Freediving is your chance to get wet and experience what breath-hold diving aka Apnea is all about. Signing up for a Freediving Level 1 course is a great way to get the access to the oceans and lakes on one breath.

The Level 1 Course covers classroom, pool and Open Water and is designed to be you entry level freediving certification.

Some of the course content:
- Experience and learn to control effects of CO2 buildup
- Experience heart rate drop due to the Mammalian Diving Reflex (“Ice bucket challenge”)
- Learn yogic breathing and stretching exercises
- Learn about proper weighting and practice Static and Dynamic Apnea
- Learn how to respond to Shallow Water Blackout
- Learn proper duck dive technique
- conduct constant weight free dives to a minimum of 33ft (15ft for Basic)
- recover unconscious diver from 33ft
- and more

Price includes the SSI digital Freediving materials

Minimum age: 12 years. Personal set of freediving equipment is needed (mask, snorkel, fins (no split), rubber weight belt).

At Saguaro Aquatics Pool , 2045 W Omar Drive (Ina/La Cholla). Please bring your freediving equipment, swimsuit, sunscreen, water, and towel. Weights will be at the pool. We will be focusing on proper stretching, correct weighting, underwater posture, dynamic apnea, and duck-dive technique.
